Man Dies After Crashing His Motor Scooter Into School Bus: Philly Police

A 41-year-old man is dead after his motor scooter struck a school bus in Philadelphia at 1:29 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, police said.

The motor scooter was northbound on the sidewalk of North 2nd Street near Nedro Avenue when it struck a traffic control device, then a Dodge Journey that was parked along the street, and finally a school bus, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

The bus was stopped at the traffic light facing east on Nedro Avenue, police said.

A Philadelphia Fire Department Medic Unit pronounced the driver of the scooter dead on the scene at 1:35 p.m., according to police. The man's name was not released.

An investigation is ongoing with the Crash Investigation Division, police said.
